The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

To enable women to have access to the Internet free-of-charge

Target group(s): Women of the age of 60 and over
Targets: - Access to the Internet for all women free-of-charge

- Surfers breakfast
- Educational software and games on CD-ROM

Areas of work of the initiative:
Education
Information technology
Success that the initiative has achieved:

PC-courses for older women are in great demand and quickly booked out; many older women come every day to practise, surf and drink coffee.

Problems that the initiative has been faced during its work:

- We could have longer opening hours if we had more staff
- Short life-spans in the computer sector

Participation of the target group concerning the conception, planning and implementation of the initiative's work:

A questionnaire is filled out and evaluated after every course

Co-operation:

We have been cooperating with the programme "Chancengleichheit für Frauen und Männer" (equality for men and women) since 1997, results are processed and disseminated.

Information:

We are available for people interested in receiving more information on our initiative by phone, post or e-mail.
