Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1992
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

The initiative was founded in 1992 as a measure for women returning to work and in reaction to the findings of a survey carried out by "am Schöpfwerk" which clearly showed the link between women's qualifications and their living standard.

The initiative was founded for a limited period of time:

The association has existed since 1992 and is not limited in time
Measures and projects for one year, respectively, as subsidies are only guaranteed for one year.

Target group(s): - Unemployed women
- Women with difficulties finding or keeping a job
- Women returning to work after an interruption
Targets: Our initiative "abz wien" is a non-profi organisation for labour-market related measures to help unemployed women to enter or return successfully to the labour market.

- Further training courses
- Model "Arbeiten und Lernen"
- Employment in a business run by women as a "transit colleague"
- Course on labour market orientation
- Personal placement - active job search
- MIM (Women in Management): promotion of women's careers in private industry and in the public sector.

Areas of work of the initiative:

Success that the initiative has achieved:

- Adoption and promotion by the public sector beyond the one-year limit (since 1992)
- Our concept measures have elicited positive response internally nad externally and resulted in follow-up projects
- After such a measure, the integration quota on the primary labour market is 100%
- Cooperation - innovative and long-term - with private industry.

Problems that the initiative has been faced during its work:

The financial limit to one year makes long-term planning difficult.

Participation of the target group concerning the conception, planning and implementation of the initiative's work:
Co-operation:

We cooperate repeatedly, above all, in the realm of social and women's affairs.
