Status of the initiative: The initiative is an association autonomous to support women in situations of crisis.

Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1991
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

Initiated by social organisations in Wiener Neustadt that recognised a need for more counselling for women, especially with regard to violence against women.

Target group(s): Women who are the victims of violence and/or who live in difficult circumstances.
Targets: - Advice, counselling, support for women
-Increasing the general public's awareness of their problems
-Courses in institutions and schools on the subject of violence
-Co-operation with other organisations
Details of the work done by the initiative:

- Individual counselling on family, social and emotional problems
- Discussion groups on separation
- Legal counselling
- Medical counselling
-Baby sitter service

- Practical help for women and their children, support in solving a range of problems (helping women to help themselves)

-Pressure because of unreliable financing, high administration costs (applying for/accounting for subsidies...)
-Developing the organisation at the same time as ensuring intensive care of clients

Participation of the target group concerning the conception, planning and implementation of the initiative's work:
Co-operation:

Since 1995 with the Netzwerk der österreichischen Frauen- und Mädchenberatungsstellen (Austrian Network of Counselling Centres for Women and Girls); presentations by experts on a range of topics (e.g. osteoporosis)

The total number of hours worked for the initiative is approx. 290 hours per week.
