Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1950
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

Traditional interest group

Target group(s): No particular women: older women in general
Targets: Counselling on making the transition to retirement, lobbying on advisory committees, organising leisure activities
Details of the work done by the initiative:

The Pensioners' Association represents the interests of older people and offers help to those in difficulties. In order to foster and maintain social integration, we organise leisure time activities such as educational courses, sport, excursions, trips, clubs, etc. The Pensioners' Association of the Tyrol maintains around 200 local groups.

Success that the initiative has achieved:

- Around 20,000 members in the Tyrol in 200 local groups
- In 1999, around 2,700 individual counselling sessions, around 7,000 care cases, around 86,000 people participating in sporting activities and around 126,700 in trips and tours.
