Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1999
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

Anschluß (Connection) is an Internet Café for senior citizens. "Web Girls and Web Witches" is its first inter-generational project. At an evening meeting in the beginning of May 1999, interested women spontaneously voted to ask that this project be continued.

Target group(s): Young and older women who are interested in the Internet
Targets: We aim to increase women's media competence. We aim to foster the exchange of ideas and communication between young and old and enable social contacts to be made.
Details of the work done by the initiative:

On one evening a month a group of 12 women or so meets for 4 hours in Anschluß (Connection), the Internet café. The evenings are organised around a theme, which is by and large decided on by the participating women themselves. Whereas at the beginning the focus was on learning about the Internet and mastering technical skills, now the group is developing an interest in projects of its own. These include "1000 famous women" and "Women in the Internet in the Cities Twinned with Frankfurt am Main". Other topics include email and search engines.
Enjoying each other's company on these evenings is as important as learning about the Internet. Somebody always organises a bite to eat for the group members.
