Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1999
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

Women participating in the network's theatre project suggested this monthly meeting as a forum to exchange ideas.

Target group(s): Women 45 and older
Targets: The aim of the round table is to promote social contacts and solidarity among the theatre women.
Details of the work done by the initiative:

Once a month - on the last Monday of the month - the theatre women meet together for a discussion with other interested older women (45 and above) at 5 p.m. in Café Küf, a "culture scene" café in the city centre. The discussions have no fixed agenda and cover such topics as recent performances, rehearsals, new theatre schedules and plans for the future. Personal problems are discussed too. In sum, this is a regular meeting place for older women at which they can talk together and share their problems. In this sense, the Women's Theatre Round Table helps women to help themselves.

Areas of work of the initiative:
Leisure/sport
Social contacts
Success that the initiative has achieved:

We now have a solid group pf regulars, and women interested in what we are doing who do not participate in the theatre project also attend.

Problems that the initiative has been faced during its work:

We have no financial support.

Participation of the target group concerning the conception, planning and implementation of the initiative's work:

Suggestions made at the round table meetings are incorporated into the work of the network.

Co-operation:

Since our foundation we have co-operated closely with the Netzwerk älterer Frauen Sachsen e.V. (Saxony Network of Older Women, a Registered Charity) and with other theatre groups. Among other activities, in 1999 we participated in a youth theatre festival.
