Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1999
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:
The initiative was founded for a limited period of time:

Deadline for entries for the competition was October 1999. The awards ceremony and exhibition opening took place on 7 December 1999.

Target group(s): All friends of photography could participate - men and women, amateurs and professionals - who have taken pictures, including series, of older women.
Targets: The idea was to demonstrate that older women can be interesting photographic subjects. Older women who are to be found in all walks of life were thus presented as visual art.
Details of the work done by the initiative:

Each participant was allowed to submit 4 entries, to include one short series of pictures. An independent jury of photographic experts and members of the association selected the best works and nominated the prize-winners. Prizes, including money prizes, were awarded, and special mentions were also made. Twenty-nine of a total of 86 photographs were selected by the jury for a representative exhibition in the Galeriecafé of the Leipzig Association of Age Culture, which ran from December 1999 to March 2000.
