The initiative is an initiative aimed at improving equal opportunities for older women through an organisation that pursues objectives which are independent of gender or age.

Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1997
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

The idea for this discussion group came from a single individual. An announcement in the local press received a very large response: 70 to 80 women expressed interest in the discussion group.
Target group(s): Women 50 or older
Targets: Our aim is to take a critical look at the social situation of women around 50 - on a cultural, emotional, intellectual and practical level.
Details of the work done by the initiative:

Every two weeks we organise a meeting around a theme of social relevance - for instance the cult of the body, civil courage, the social situation of older women, the position of older women in the family and at work, health themes, and life styles. We also visit cultural events together, and private meetings also take place.

One sign of success is the mutual support that now exists among the participants.

In the first place it is important to find a room. Then interested women can be contacted through an announcement in the regional press. At an initial co-ordination meeting, the interests of those present should be systematically sounded out.
