Content and framework conditions of the project work
The initiative was founded in: 1993
The initiative was founded because of the following reasons:

The sketch is a response by the Senior Citizens' Council and the police to the large number of traffic accidents involving elderly people, and is also aimed at enhancing crime prevention. The script was written by Detective Chief Superintendent Fred Hasse.

Target group(s): Older people
Targets: The audience, consisting mostly of older women, are informed of traffic dangers in a serious yet entertaining way. The goal of the film is both accident and crime prevention.
Details of the work done by the initiative:

The sketches are presented on stage. The main protagonist is Elly, an elderly lady to whom all kinds of terrible things happen in traffic situations and in public places: accidents, falls, attacks, bag snatching, etc. The second actor is a (real) policeman who helps the old lady and in a friendly tone assists her safely on her way. Until 1998 there was a third actor, a representative of the Darmstadt public transport system, who participated whenever the sketch was performed within the area covered by the Darmstadt public transport system.
In the sketches, Elly serves as a figure with whom the target group can identify.

Areas of work of the initiative:
Mobility
Security/protection
Success that the initiative has achieved:

To date the sketch has been performed more than 150 times in homes for the aged and other places where elderly people get together. The sketch has been received everywhere with great interest and encouragement.
In 1995 the ensemble received the German Traffic Safety Award in Silver from the Deutsche Verkehrswacht (German Traffic Control Authority).

Problems that the initiative has been faced during its work:
Participation of the target group concerning the conception, planning and implementation of the initiative's work:

At performances we always respond to input from the audience. Imaginative ideas are recorded and incorporated into the program.
