| Abstract: This report contains the findings of an evaluation of the measures promoted
by the European Social Fund towards improving the opportunities and status of women on the
labour market. This investigation was carried out by the "Economic Research
Institue" and the "Institute of Labour Market Research Steiermark" and
examines measures for the unemployed with special reference to gender differences in the
integration into the labour market, to equal opportunity, and to gender mainstreaming.
Another focus of this report are the framework conditions for the implementation of equal
opportunity, the quantitative indicators for steering this, and the quantitative findings
on its implementation between 1995 and 1997. The integrative effect of Objective 3
Measures and equal opportunity for women and men involved in care work are also described.
The report also deals with measures for the employed, for example, those against the
discrimination of women at the workplace, measures promoting equal opportunity for women
and men in Austria within the framework of Objective 4, and the quantitative evaluation of
the implementation of Objective 4. |
