| Abstract: The author examines the question as to whether the sexuality of older women
is indeed different from that of younger women. In a secondary analysis she critically
examines the available literature on the subject and finds in it a series of inaccuracies
and inconsistencies which add up to a distorted image of the sexuality of older women. She
questions, for instance, the standards of measurement applied and the relevance of male
perspectives and male vocabulary in describing female sexuality. In addition she describes
alternatives for recording sexual behaviour. |
