| Abstract: For her longitudinal analysis, Dibelius surveyed a total of 104 widowed men
and women on three separate occasions after the death of their partner. In her analysis
she distinguishes between three different types of reaction:
1. Acceptance of the loss of the partner: inner and outer change,
2. Conflict: struggling to hang on to the life that is left to one,
3. Lack of acceptance: resignation and discontent with one's own lot. |
