In order to guarantee old people a minimum income, the benefits and income limits are re-assessed annually on 1 January.

Detailed description:

Benefits and income limits for the old age minimum upvalued on 1.01.2000. Both are dependent on social status (living alone/married couple).
- For people living alone: the monthly sum was raised to 3,575.83FF (545.13 Euro), the annual income limit to 43,947FF (6,699.68 Euro) ;
- Married couples: the monthly sum was raised to 6,414.75FF (977.92 Euro), the annual income limit to 76,977FF (11,735.07Euro).
